Dev Blog 3, we’re plowing through tasks on our way to alpha, with a goal of getting it by the end of the month! Here’s what we’ve been up the past week.
Eric – firstname.lastname@example.org
Working on crafting, research, skills, and UI. Still a few bugs, but not too far off having the whole tech tree built out.
Fuller – email@example.com
Working on buildings and zoning. The effect is rough but here’s me zoning out a section of land:
Also, not pictured, is the real-time checks during construction that make sure the requirements set by the building owner are met.
Jeff – firstname.lastname@example.org
Putting the final touches on the account system. Will be ready to handle 21 different purchasing tiers, with special rewards for various tiers; such as game invites, source-code access, dev form and slack access. Current users will also be able to upgrade their account for higher rewards.
John – email@example.com
Working on balancing the ecosystem, building development tools to easily watch and track what’s happening.
K – firstname.lastname@example.org
Project: BBS(Bring Back the Serialization).
Fixing Serialization bug so that everything will be saved correctly with tons of mods.
Keegan – email@example.com
Working on getting Kickstarter rewards ready for fulfilment, and catching up at the office after my trip abroad. Here’s a photo from my trip of the Bosco Verticale in Milan, a pair of residential buildings recently completed that each host a very diverse selection of trees, shrubs, and other plants on their facades. The plants reduce smog and help with heating the building in the winter.
Milenko – firstname.lastname@example.org
Working on the past-prototype visuals of the game, looking at different ways we can represent the world, and deciding which way we go with the asset production.
Did A meteor hit sequence here are a few frames:
We have a few ‘must have’ goals for alpha: crafting, buildings, skills, and food. Beyond that, we want to have a satisfying meteor destruction conclusion. We’ve decided we need a solid foundation for those 5 features before we release alpha, and that it’s more important to get those right even if it means slipping into November. We’re going to do all we can to get it by October though, so stay tuned!
Cheers and as always email us with any questions.
